DIY Soft Robotic Gripper

During my gap year between high school and college I started experimenting with soft robotics. I found that entering the field of soft robotics as a hobbyist can be difficult and expensive. 3D printers, which are not yet commonplace in schools and libraries, are almost always required to make the robot molds. Additionally, a working knowledge of CAD software is generally required. To remove this technological barrier, I developed a mold that can be easily made with cardboard and hot glue. My work is published on the Soft Robotics Toolkit. I also developed various Instructables (Instructables.com) and YouTube videos, teaching others how to make their own soft robots. In 2017 the Soft Robotics Toolkit applied my method to make two of their "Resources for Educators" projects.
